Terms of the Competitions - Elite Categories
- Competition is open to young pianists in specific categories separated by age.
- The Competition is held in seven age groups:
- Infant Group : up to 5 years old inclusive
- Youth Group : 6-7 years old inclusive
- Group A : 8-9 years old inclusive
- Group B : 10-12 years old inclusive
- Group C : 13-14 years old inclusive
- Group D : 15-17 years old inclusive
- University Level : 18-22 years old inclusive
- The age of participants in each age group of the competition is determined by 1 November 2025.
- Competition is held in accordance with the repertoire requirements which are to be determined and released.
Procedures for the Competition - Elite Categories
- Applications for the preliminary round consisting of pre-recorded video submissions will be accepted until 15 January 2026. Videos should be recorded no more than 6 months before the date of the submission. The video must be recorded live in one take, without any additional technological manipulation, sound editing or processing. The video shall be recorded with one or two microphones in high quality.
- Applicants who pass the preliminary round will be invited to participate in the 1st round which will also consist of video submissions. Successful applicants are to be determined by a jury, and they will be able to move on to the 2nd round.
- The live competition will be held in 18-21 February 2026.
- Performance order will be determined via lottery and will be posted on the official website www.bechsteincompetitionthailand.com

- The Competition is held in five age groups:
- Infant Group: up to 5 years old inclusive
- Youth Group: 6-7 years old inclusive
- Group A: 8-9 years old inclusive
- Group B: 10-12 years old inclusive
- Group C: 13-14 years old inclusive
- Group D: 15-17 years old inclusive
- The age of participants in each age group of the competition is determined by 1 November 2025.
- Competition is held in accordance with the repertoire depending on each participants’ choice.
Procedures for the Competition - Rising Star Categories
- Applications should be submitted to the organizer before 15 January 2026.
- The live competition will be held in 18-21 February 2026.
- Performance order will be determined via lottery and will be posted on the official website www.bechsteincompetitionthailand.com
